What Makes BotBuilders' Bots So Effective? Meet Hybrid AI

Hey. Welcome to a very special installment of BotBuilders Basics because in this training we're gonna share a little bit of our secret sauce here at BotBuilders. It's part of what's helped us really grow. So fast year after year, and part of what helps our students and our clients grow as well, all with zero technical background. And that's the special way that our chatbots work, what we call Hybrid AI. And to help me out, I brought on the guy here who helped me to create this approach, co-founder, BotBuilders one and only Nic Frachon. 

What Makes Our Bots So Special?

Nic: Awesome. Thanks man. So we have a lot of people ask us what makes our bots so special. Why they're so engaging, entertaining, and Why a lot of other bots out there are just flat out boring and frustrating. How our bots can do things like generate leads, make sales, produce real results while other bots you may have seen out there just seem to be glorified. FAQs pretty bad last time. 

The Birth of Hybrid AI (Back at BoardGames.com)

Yeah, so when I started working with Matt back in 2017 at his company boardgames.com, we knew there had to be a way to create a better chatbot experience and admittedly, It wasn't just because we wanted to build a bot. We were in a place where we really needed something different pretty desperately. Yep, absolutely. I  mentioned board games.com in the last video that we talked about and how bad we were doing financially. 

Matt: What I didn't mention is that when Nic came on, the business was struggling so badly that we didn't even have money to pay him at first, poor guy. True story. I just downsized offices into this little tiny box and I didn't even have furniture, so Nic had to bring his own chair to work. What a trooper. 

Nic: Yeah, that was day one. So I had to assemble my own chair, which was my first job. My second job was to create a bot. Assemble a chair. Assemble a bot, right? We spent countless hours creating this Hybrid AI approach that we're about to teach you and it really all comes down to this. There are some things that AI do better than humans. AI is hyper intelligent. It can handle so many different things at once, and it can be trained the way that we build our bots to answer any question that you want about your unique business. But there are also certain situations where an AI can't quite create an experience as good as a human can. At least not yet. For example, Matt here is a master copywriter. He's generated, I don't even know how many millions of leads and millions in sales. So all the bots that we build are infused with your specialized knowledge and sales and conversion knowledge, all that good stuff. And the way that we do this in a bot is something called a flow. And the way that we're looking at these flows, we're gonna be doing this in just a second, but to give you a quick mental picture. Just imagine, a decision tree. It's like one of those choose your own adventure books where the user can go through click buttons, go down different paths, and really customize their own experience.

Those books were like, the only reason I ever read books ever. But the bot flows. 

Yeah.

Matt: These experiences. That is just to brag for a second. That is what we do better than anybody in the world, no question.

Matt: It's really fun, engaging, smooth. Cool. Experiences, and I think that's how we scored ManyChat too.

Nic: A hundred percent. Yeah. No, it's, we do it better than anybody. And again, I do think that's the reason why ManyChat hired us. To build their bot for them all those years ago. And if you haven't heard ManyChat, it's the number one most used bot platform in the world. And if we fast forward to today, we've built dozens and dozens of awesome flows for our students, clients in just about every niche you could possibly imagine.

Matt: Yeah. 

Real-World Track Record

Local businesses, consultants, e-commerce, MLM, Amazon Sellers there's just so many. And we also have students who create their own flows. And all of the little unique niches that they come to us from. Like I've worked with a student who created a bot for a music festival. I've helped people build bots for universities to help students who need a little bit extra help studying. So it really doesn't matter what type of business you're in. With Hybrid AI, it's all about letting the AI do a lot of the heavy lifting and the hard stuff, and then the more specialized experiences and specialized things either use one of our own proven flows that we've created or build one out yourself.

Quick Recap: What Is a Chatbot?

When we talk about chatbots, we're referring to any autonomous system that is gonna have intelligent conversations with customers and potential customers, people, you want to become your customers. They answer questions, they collect leads, they make sales, they set appointments. And this happens in real time and it not only happens in real time, it also has ongoing automation behind it. So what that'll do for you is maximize the value of every visitor to your site or to your social media and really just make sure that you get the most value and give the most value of every lead that comes through. And there's a number of different platforms where these bots can live. Could be your website, could be Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, TikTok SMS, text messages as well. The one thing that is important to note is that each of these different platforms allows for different functionality. 

So for example, a bot that lives on text message doesn't have the ability to click on buttons yet.

Exactly. Yeah. At least not yet.

With that in mind, Nic's going to show you a demo of one of our many different hybrid AI bots, and in this one it's gonna be for marketing agencies. I think it is specifically, SEO agency.

But the important thing is just to imagine what this kind of functionality might be like for your business, right? How you could use something like this to drive more leads and drive more appointments, and also pay attention to how the Hybrid AI technology works, where the flows that Nic and I built. Merge with the automation of the AI.

I'm the owner. I do the marketing or other. In this case, I'm gonna click, I'm the owner. 

Nice. Glad to hear. I'm talking to the head honcho. I've almost finished checking my databases and cross-referencing with Google. Okay, Nic, I'm finding some very interesting results here. Which do you want first, the good news or the bad news? 

We're gonna start off with the bad news.

The bad news is it looks like you're only getting about 907 visits per day, and I can tell from what I'm seeing, you could be doing much better, especially on Google. Now the good news is there are definitely worse websites out there. In fact, there are only. Lemme see 794,859 sites in the world that get more traffic than yours. Tell me, Nic, how do you feel about your current traffic? 

I need way more. I want to increase it or not worry at all. I don't know any business owner in the world who wouldn't want more traffic to the website. So I'm gonna click, I need way more.

It looks like we have some work to do, Nic, not to worry. I was built by one of the smartest marketers in the world

So let's take a closer look at where your traffic is coming from. So it looks like 70% is directly typed in. We have 22% coming from organic. 0.06% is paid 1.7% from social media, and 0.12% is sent from email. Again you should set your targets on free search traffic, which is roughly 205 visits per day. Now you have so much opportunity on Google, Nic, I can break it all down and help to look for solutions. But first, let me confirm your email. So I can send you what you'll need.
